How To Pick Out An Outfit For A Photoshoot
How To Pick Out An Outfit For A Photoshoot
do you have a photoshoot coming up and are unsure of what you should be wearing? we’re here to tell you 5 great tips to picking the perfect outfit, don’t worry it’s easier than you might think!
consider the type of photoshoot you’re having
you guys, one of the most important considerations for the perfect photoshoot outfit is considering the type of photoshoot you’re going to have. are you going to have a family shoot? headshots? wedding photoshoot? the possibilities are endless! your outfit should complement the type of photoshoot you’re having. for example, if you were doing a family photoshoot, you’d want to make sure all the outfits complement each other. you wouldn’t want to have everyone choose photoshoot outfits separately not knowing the theme, that could get messy.
colors, colors, colors!
another very important thing to be aware of is the color scheme of your photoshoot. a few well-known tips are that dark clothing tends to make you look slimmer - let’s be real, who doesn’t love a good black outfit? you’ll want to avoid wearing too many patterns because we want the pictures to look timeless, not that you look back on it in 20 years thinking “why did i wear that?!” light colors can be simple and lighten up a picture beautifully; while brights are likely to outshine the beautiful faces so we don’t recommended. you want to be sure to stand out from the background, but also not detract from your smiling face.
be aware of where and when your shoot is taking place
a lesser-known factor of choosing photoshoot outfits is that they should coordinate with the season. for instance, you probably wouldn’t want to wear super dark colors in the dead of summer because
1. it’ll be hot and
2. you’d need to be aware of what the scenery would look like during summer – it’ll probably be much greener.
if you google photoshoot ideas, you’ll likely find a lot of inspo during fall, it may seem like. fall is the season where the colors are so versatile, you can get away with a white shirt or a black shirt and it’ll still be flawless. also, take into consideration the location of your shoot – like if you’re in a field, you’d want something flowy to go with the scenery.
the don’t – something to avoid
there are a few things you probably would be better off avoiding when choosing your next photoshoot outfit. one of them is too many accessories; doing this can clash with the outfits and tends to be distracting from the photo. a good measure would be 3-4 big accessories at most! this way you can still bring a little personal style into it, while also having a nice picture.
look great & feel great
our last tip is the easiest, dress in something you feel comfortable in! it will not only make you look great, but you’ll feel great during the photoshoot. clothes that flatter your best assets will make you feel confident about your photos. you’ll also want to plan your photoshoot outfit with comfortable shoes as you may be standing or moving around a lot during the shoot. it’s best to lay out all your clothes before choosing your final outfit.
