Entertaining Your Wedding Guests While You’re Taking Photos

When planning a wedding, there’s already so much to consider. One other important thing to consider while you are in the process of planning is to keep your guests occupied when you’re taking photos with the wedding party. Most people have some kind of photoshoot planned during your wedding and you don’t want to have your guests sitting around bored. This is where we can help! As professional photographers, we’ve been to our fair share of weddings and spent the day with the happy couple. Throughout the years, we’ve learned a thing or two about keeping your guests busy while we get to work with you and your party separately. Read our blog for some creative ways to entertain your guests while you take wedding photos.

Traditional options to try

One of the more “traditional” options you can consider is something like preparing a slideshow to display your relationship as it has grown. Another traditional thing many people do is have a DJ playing some music and some appetizers being served while guests wait. This gives them a chance to mingle with one another and people who may be running late will have time to trickle in.

Have your guests play games

Now, with this one you can go many different ways that are both fun and creative for your guests. If your wedding is outside, you can always find lawn games that people can play and get competitive with. Some examples are cornhole, bocce ball or the ladder toss. Alternatively, you can have your guests involved with tabletop games for the kids that may be part of the festivities or puzzle games for the tables.

Snacks are always welcome

When people attend weddings, one thing they tend to remember most is the FOOD! Besides the dinner you may have planned for the reception, you can have your guests eat a little before your wedding. This works especially well when you’ve got an all day event planned. Snack bars including ice cream sundae bars, make your own charcuterie boards for your guests and the list goes on. There are so many wonderful Pinterest ideas that you can find for creative, cute snack bar ideas. Don’t worry, these snacks only have to hold people over for later.
